Spartak Moscow’s head coach Juan Carcido has explained why midfielder Jedson started the Russian Premier League match against Rubin Kazan on the substitutes’ bench. Jedson came on in the 65th minute of the game, which ended 2-1 in Spartak’s favor.

“I expected this question. In the last training sessions, Jedson was unable to work fully. We made this decision to distribute the workload among the players,” Carcido said, as quoted on Spartak’s official website.
After 29 matches in the Russian Premier League, Spartak have 51 points and sit in fourth place in the standings. They are two points behind third-placed Lokomotiv. Rubin Kazan are in seventh place with 42 points.
