Four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen has spoken ahead of his first-ever 24-hour endurance race at the Nürburgring, saying the team is well prepared but acknowledging the role of the Balance of Performance (BoP).
“We are as ready as we can be, but ultimately, of course, it also depends on the BoP – where we end up in terms of performance. As drivers, we’re prepared, the team is strong. The main thing now is to make sure the car holds up and stays in one piece, especially in a 24-hour race.
Other than that, I want to do more, of course, but it also depends a bit on the Formula 1 calendar. For example, if there was a free weekend for the 24 Hours of Spa, I would have gone there this year as well. So anything that allows me to race, I’d gladly do,” Verstappen told RacingNews365.
