The event saw the attendance of Major General Alfonso Alberto López Malo, Head of Judicial Police; Major General Pedro Pizarro de Medina, Head of the Guardia Civil Zone in Catalonia; Miguel Díaz Román, President of the RFET; and José Bellmont Regodón, President of the RFET’s Anti-Doping and Integrity Committee.

Coordinated by Patrick Montes Peris, Deputy Head of the Judicial Police Unit of the 7th Zone in Catalonia, the approximately three-hour session aimed to share knowledge, strengthen collaboration, and promote a safe, responsible, and united environment centered on the values of tennis.

Corruption in sport—especially match-fixing, fraud in betting markets, and doping—has become a growing international issue. Organized crime has found fertile ground in these areas, exploiting the economic scale of sports, the global betting industry, and the reach of the internet, all of which threaten athletes’ health and the integrity of competitions.

In response, the RFET and the Guardia Civil signed a General Protocol of Action to jointly enhance prevention, detection, and investigation of such misconduct. These integrity workshops are designed to extend this collaborative framework to clubs, athletes, coaches, and others involved in Spanish tennis, offering training and mechanisms for coordinated action.
