The Doosan Bears extended their winning streak to three games after defeating the KIA Tigers 5-1 on Tuesday at Gwangju’s Kia Champions Field, moving into sole possession of fifth place in the KBO League standings.

With a record of 18 wins, one draw, and 19 losses, Doosan edged past KIA (17-20-1) to claim solo fifth place. Starting pitcher Choi Seung-yong earned his first win of the season, tossing five innings of one-run ball on five hits, two strikeouts, and three walks. The offensive spark came from Park Jun-soon, who crushed a decisive three-run home run to put the game out of reach.

KIA starter Adam Oller struggled, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits over six innings, including a home run, while striking out six and walking one.

The Tigers struck first in the bottom of the first inning. Park Jae-hyun singled and advanced to second on a throwing error by the right fielder. After a sacrifice bunt by Kim Ho-ryung, Kim Sun-bin delivered an RBI single to put KIA ahead 1-0.

After two quiet innings, Doosan answered in the top of the third. Jung Soo-bin and Park Ji-hoon hit back-to-back triples to tie the game, and Oh Myung-jin followed with a sacrifice fly to left field to give Doosan a 2-1 lead.

KIA missed a golden opportunity in the fourth inning. With one out and the bases loaded after a walk to Na Sung-bum, a single by Yoon Do-hyun, and another walk to Park Min, Park Jae-hyun struck out and Kim Ho-ryung grounded out to second to end the threat.

Doosan extended the lead in the fifth. Oh Myung-jin singled and Kim Min-seok walked, setting the stage for Park Jun-soon. The young slugger crushed a 151 km/h two-seam fastball from Oller over the right-field wall for a three-run homer, making it 5-1.
