On May 6, 2026, the Chinese men’s table tennis team secured a 3-1 victory over Romania in the round of 16 at the London World Table Tennis Championships, advancing to the quarterfinals.
The Chinese team fielded Liang Jingkun, Wang Chuqin, and Lin Shidong for the match.
In the first match, Liang Jingkun lost to Romania’s E. Ionescu with scores of 5-11, 7-11, and 6-11, putting China down 0-1.
In the second match, Wang Chuqin defeated Chirita with scores of 11-5, 12-10, and 11-5, leveling the overall score at 1-1.
